I rolled over and swiped my hand across the bed in search of her. Coming up empty, I cracked open an eye lid. The sun peeked through the curtains, casting a dull light into the room. I threw my arm over my head to block out the sun while flashing my other lid open. Peeling the covers from my body, I slid to the edge of the bed and sat up, planting my feet on the floor. Instantly I was hit with the delicious aroma of bacon and some sort of bread. I stood to my feet and surveyed the pile of clothes next to the bed for my boxers. Bending at the waist I plucked my briefs from the top of the pile and gaited out the room, heading straight for the bathroom to relieve my heavy bladder.

I emptied my bladder and ambled over to the sink. Cutting on the water I stared at my reflection in the mirror, smirking as images from last night flooded my mind. It didn’t help that I could still taste her. Her scent was not only on my tongue but in my mustache and goatee. Sliding my eyes down to the counter I noticed a fresh rag laid across the sink. I grabbed the rag off the counter and dragged my eyes back up the mirror. I had half a mind to skip cleaning my face just to have her scent with me a little while longer. I quickly shook that crazy ass thought from my head as I placed the rag under the water and washed my face. My next task was my teeth which also meant the last traces of her would be gone. Damn nigga, you got it bad. Reaching into the cabinet I pulled out my toothbrush and brushed my teeth. Once I finished my morning routine, I shut off the water and put my toothbrush back where I got it then exited the bathroom, damn near tripping over Creed on my way out the door. Barely paying me attention, Creed lifted his head from the carpet and sluggishly moved out of my path. Strolling into the kitchen I found Rocky bent over looking inside the refrigerator.

I stood on the balls of my feet and trekked quietly over to her, bending over I threw my arms around her waist and lifted her off the floor. Rocky shrieked while giggling in my arms. I took a nice whiff of her natural scent before planting a kiss on the side of her face and placing her back on her feet.

“Good morning Short Stuff.”

Rocky turned and faced me. Standing on her tippy toes she placed her mouth on mine, quickly peeking my lips then pulling back. “Ummm. Good morning Dre.”

“It smells amazing in here. You making breakfast for me?”

Rocky turned back toward the fridge and finished digging inside. “Uh hun. After last night I figured you’d worked up an appetite. But you do know it’s after twelve, so technically it’s not breakfast,” she spoke with her head still inside the refrigerator.
